The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (Ecnec) on Thursday approved the ML 1 project, the largest railway project in the history of Pakistan.
Federal Minister for Planning, Development, Reforms and Special Initiatives, Asad Umar informed that the project will be completed at a cost of $6.8 billion and will not only improve the infrastructure of the railways but also improve the management structure of the railways.
“This project is the largest project of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC),”said Umar.
The federal minister also informed that he had hold meeting involving 10 ministries to develop a special South Balochistan development program for this region, which is the least developed part of Pakistan.
“This initiative is based on Prime Minister ImranKhan vision of giving priority to the weakest segments / areas of the country,” he said.
